Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a MUD?
A: A Municipal Utility District (MUD) is a political subdivision of the State of Texas authorized by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to provide water, sewage, drainage and other services within the MUD boundaries. River Plantation is served by two MUD's.

Q: What are the rules for posting signs?
A: Only the types of signs listed here are allowed. If you wish to place a sign not included on the signage chart, please contact the Architectural Control Committee at 273-2002 for approval. Only approved signs are permitted.

Signs may only be placed as indicated. Signs may not be attached to street signs, stop signs, the bridge, railroad property or trees.

Signs not following these Guidelines will be removed without notice. Offenders may be charged a service fee of $25.00 for every occurrence that requires sign removal.

Q: Is parking allowed in parks and common areas?
A: In order to properly maintain the “park areas’ of River Plantation, the ACC Guidelines stipulate that residents may not park their vehicles on any dirt or grassy areas of parks. The streets around these park areas are narrow and therefore, due to safety concerns, guests, visitors and trades people may park in the parks during their visit or work hours. However, they may not park in the parks overnight or store any material or vehicles in the park areas.
